Church, located in the
    heart of Peekskill, has been
serving God's people since 1859. As a Catholic community united
by faith in Jesus Christ, We are called
    to proclaim the kingdom of
    God. Nourished
by the Holy Eucharist and the Gospel, our parish
strives to reflect Christ’s light to the world through worship,
    education and

Theology on Tap consists of a social gathering with food and drinks, a speaker who presents some aspect of faith and culture and answers questions in a public setting that is open to the faithful as well as seekers.  Our next Theology on Tap will be Monday, May 19 at Piazza Roma in Mohegan Lake at 7:30pm. The short talk entitled, “A Family Affair” will be given by President of St. Christopher’s Inn at Graymoor, Father Bill Drobach, and Laura Zick, CASAC.  Both Fr. Bill and Laura are Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors.  The theme is especially timely because of the epidemic heroin use in the area.  Those who are dependent on drugs as well as family and friends of those who suffer from addiction are strongly encouraged to attend.  Please join us for a night of fellowship.

The Parish’s overall financial situation remains ‘guarded’ at mid-year, Aug ’13 – Feb ’14, with the Parish operating at a deficit largely due to lower collections, and trailing school costs.  Thanks to two very generous donations, however, the Parish is able to meet its commitments.  The recent surge seen in collections is very encouraging.  Sunday collections represent the most vital revenue source (nearly 60%) for our Parish.  So, know that your generosity is most-needed and appreciated to keep our Parish vibrant and able to fulfill its mission!  For more information, check-out the complete report here, or contact Steve Jones, with questions.

Please join us on April 25 at 7:30PM as Fr. Enrique Salvo will celebrate a special bilingual healing mass.  This is especially for those whose lives have been touched by Cancer.  We especially invite those who are suffering from cancer or who have family or friends who are suffering or died from cancer or those who have family members or friends who have died from Cancer.  Please join us for this special night of healing.

Assumption has received a gift of a Chalice that was used by Father James Finnigan throughout his priesthood.  Father Finnigan grew up in Peekskill and served at Assumption for many years.  We are starting a program that will provide an opportunity for families in the parish to keep this beautiful Chalice in their home for one week.  The purpose of the Travelling Chalice Program is to encourage families to take time, each day, during the week the Chalice is in their home to pray together to promote vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.  In the future, the Chalice will be presented to the first new priest from Assumption Parish. For more information or to schedule a visit in your home, please contact Ellen Bennett at 914-788-6261 or Annie Zuzarte at 914-610-5035.

Assumption Church has its own television show called Catholic Peekskill featuring interviews and information relating to our Catholic Faith.  Catholic Peekskill airs weekly on Cablevision TV Channel 15 on Tuesday at 9:30, Wednesday at 5:30pm and Sunday at 4:00 pm and can be seen from Peekskill to Tarrytown; and, on FIOS TV Channel 37 on Tuesday and Wednesday, 6:00pm  in Westchester, Orange, Rockland, Putnam and Duchess counties.
